Independent Reviews

Recent independent reviews were done on behalf of Save the Kiwi, Predator Free NZ Trust and Biosecurity New Zealand.

During 2019 and 2020 I led an independent review of the New Zealand Defence Force including the senior stakeholder management, design of review process, interviewing, deliberation and drawing of conclusions, making recommendations and writing the final report. I chose a seasoned practitioner to work closely with me as we worked through the tricky topic of progress in reducing harmful and inappropriate sexual behaviour in the workplace.

Communications Services

Strategic communications services including writing, project management and collaboration with design agencies for key corporate communication pieces, White Papers, Bid and Proposals, RFPs, Award Entries and financial reporting such as Annual Reports. Key clients have included New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, BNZ, Carter Holt Harvey, The Warehouse Group, Vero Insurance, The Packaging Council and Hobsonville Land Company.

Annual Reports

I wrote and project-managed the creative, design and internal team creating The Warehouse Group (NZX:WHS) Annual Reports from 2008 to 2013.

Environmental Reports

This has been an area of personal interest since 1997 when I was Communications Manager for Carter Holt Harvey and it published its first triple-bottom line report. Subsequently, I have worked on reports for IAG New Zealand, Carter Holt Harvey (now OJI Fibre Solutions) Environmental and Sustainability Reports from 2008 - 2013, and The Warehouse Group Community and Sustainability Reports from 2008 - 2013.

Over the years many of the reports I have written or managed have been recognised in awards. This is a reflection of the close collaborative approach I take with my clients and design agencies.

Diversity, inclusion and safe workplaces 

I have worked with a number of private and public agencies on their diversity efforts such as New Zealand Customs, Police, The Treasury and Auckland Council.  

While consulting I also held a part-time position as Diversity Manager for Bank of New Zealand, which was acknowledged with a number of award wins. BNZ was one of five companies worldwide to receive recognition and an award from UN Women and the Global Compact in New York in 2013. It was recognised by APEC as one of the top 50 companies for women to work and received the inaugural Deloitte Top200 Diversity Leadership award.
